Blanket #3 - Where Are You?!
Oh dear! We're not sure what's happened with our pretty wool blanket.
The last we heard, it was being mailed by mjscott to letah75 in California. But, she hasn't seen it yet.

Our Blanket Enjoyed A Trip to Illinois!
MaryB knit her part, using KnitPicks Wool of the Andes in Black Cherry.
She says the blanket was a little bored-----it only watched the White Sox and Cubs on TV.
90 plus degrees and high humidity in Chicagoland kept her inside in the AC!!!
Now, she's ready to mail the blanket to the next knitter - divagirl in Pennsylvania!!

Summertime Wool Knitting
Our blanket has continued its progress through the Oddball Knitters on the list, by spending some time in the hands of carmabelle1191 in New Jersey, and Jeremy in Connecticut.
Carmabelle used a full skein of Cascade 220 in light blue, then added some leftover purple Cascade 220 that rennfamily included with the blanket when it was mailed to her.
Now, Jeremy has finished his portion, and is ready to mail it out.
Hopefully, our next knitter (Lisa1216) will be available to knit their part. I've tried to contact her, but don't know if she'll respond right now. It's a holiday weekend in the States, so she could be out of town. Here's hoping!

Some Oddball Blanket Bonding in New Jersey!
Carmabelle1191 in New Jersey just received the Oddball Blanket at her doorstep, and was THRILLED with the extra goodies she got from Rennfamily.
2 skeins of Malabrigo! 2 back-issues of Vogue Knitting! A Burt's Bees giftpack!
And the purple knitting that Rennfamily added in Maryland has really dressed up our blanket.
Things are looking good for our Wool Oddball Blanket!

Time for ANOTHER Oddball Blanket!
So far, the wonderful knitters of the Knitting Help Forum have started knitting two Oddball Blankets for charity. We each knit all the way across the blanket for 3 inches, then we mail it to the next person in line to continue knitting.
When the blankets are completed by the 25 knitters in each chain, they will be given to charity! :)
The first two blankets were made with washable yarn. We have decided to make our third blanket with 100% WOOL yarn, so we can give it to a charity that requires natural fibers.
Here is the route the blanket will be traveling, starting and ending with the red square in North Carolina:
I am the first knitter. I used some vintage wool in my stash, which is a dull grey color. After a few rows of that, I was ready for some color! So, I grabbed some old packets of Kool-Aid and mixed them with some water on the stove, and brought it to a boil. Then, I turned down the heat, and added some beige wool yarn. After a while, the wool absorbed all the color from the Kool-Aid, and became a BEAUTIFUL deep red.
Now, my grey knitting has been livened up by the Kool-Aid red, and looks MUCH better.
The blanket is ready to travel to Lissalue now!
